| For me this is Top 50, right outside of my Top 25. I like Aquemini better. |

| Top 25 without question. Just try and name me a duo that's come out with 4 in a row as good as:
"Southernplayalistic" "Atliens" "Aquemini" "Stankonia"

| With all due respect to Outkast, I think Public Enemy has a better first four......
Yo! Bumrush The Show It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back Fear Of A Black Planet Apocalyspe '91 The Enemy Strikes Back |

Yo! Bumrush The Show It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back Fear Of A Black Planet Apocalyspe '91 The Enemy Strikes Back I can't dispute Nations or Fear Of a Black Planet even though i prefer the Kast albums more, but The other two really don't compare to Southernplayalistic or Stankonia IMO

I think that Yo! and Apocalyspe 91 are every bit as good as Southernplayalistic, but that's just my personal opinion. |

| top 25 easily for ATLiens...
A Tribe Called Quest had a crazy first 4 People's Instinctive Travels The Low End Theory Midnight Marauders Beat, Rhymes and Life
they match up quite nicely with 'Kast's first 4 IN MY OPINION!
Good pick with the PE albums KJ...because IMO they match up nicely too
also let's not forget Run-D.M.C. Run-D.M.C. King Of Rock Raising Hell Tougher Than Leather
good ones Shaun with the Gangstarr and Eric B and Rakim joints!

good ones Shaun with the Gangstarr and Eric B and Rakim joints! The only "group" who's had their first 4 albums as good as Kast is BDP and maybe EPMD, but this is just my personal opinion. I can't really make an argument against these others. It's just all personal preference.

| Maybe I'm not hearing something on Yo! Bumrush The Show...but it's pretty much their Idlewild, IMO. If it ain't a classic, it ain't fuckin' with Kast because they dropped 4 straight classics right out the gate and are the only ones to do so with such originality and variety. BDP, PE, Tribe, Run DMC, EPMD, OK, etc....they all did it with the same sound. Boi & Dre pretty much scrapped the previous model and started over every time out (Southernplayalistic... and Stankonia are polar opposites in terms of sound) and have yet to make the same album twice.
Kast occupies a special piece of real estate in rap. There ain't 2 groups (hell, 1 really) that has done what they've done yet.

| I totally disagree Norf, I feel that Yo Bumrush The Show is a classic. I don't skip anything on it. In fact, I like it better than Apocalypse 91. Their Idlewild would be Muse Sick N Hour Message.
I also co-sign the BDP, Eric B & Rakim, Run-DMC, and ATCQ picks. Don't Sweat The Technique, Tougher Than Leather, and Beats, Rhymes, and Life are on par with Stankonia IMO. And Edutainment is the best 4th album between them all.
I've stated before that I don't feel that Stankonia's a classic. But like Terry said, it's personal preference. |

| Agreed KJ.....I feel that Yo,Bumrush The Show is a classic as well
Outkast is one of the GOATS of all-time and those others mentioned are one of the GOATS of all-time as well and they all stack up pretty good against each other..
thanks Terry for reminding me about EPMD Strictly Business Unfinished Business Business As Usual Business Never Personal
all 4 of those are BANGIN!

| The only group on Outkast's level with 4 straight heaters like they got is Run-DMC IMO. I agree with Norf...PE's debut does not hold up to the following 3. I kind of feel that way about BDP as well. All are classics, but not on the same level IMO. Same with EPMD....their forth isn't even classic IMO.
I suppose you could say Outkast is my all-time favorite group though.

I suppose you could say Outkast is my all-time favorite group though. I respect your opinion Pounds but I disagree. I don't see how KRS can be your GOAT, yet you don't hold Criminal Minded in very high regard. Outkast is one of my 5 favorite groups of all time, so if someone feels they have the best first four it's all good even though I feel Stankonia is overrated (especially by this forum). But I think most of the groups mentioned easily are just as dope through their first four. I think some of y'all need to revisit Yo Bumrush The Show. It was a classic upon it's release and it still is IMO. I think it's only slept on because the album that followed it changed the face of the rap game. |

Kast occupies a special piece of real estate in rap. There ain't 2 groups (hell, 1 really) that has done what they've done yet. I completely agree with you. There is not a single catalog in hip hop that matches Outkast's first four albums. Gang Starr does come close though, good pick Shaun. I do think Yo Bumrush The Show is classic however. I'm also with Alan on that "Outkast is probably my favorite group" tip.
