Well I have never been down with BLH so they are unknown to me. And i'm alomst willling to put money on it that they are just a bunch of filler typical ass rappers. We'll see if it proves me wrong.

I always think its hilarious... I mean you complain about others judging shit and then you do the same kev.

First Degree - Far from your typical rapper - even weird, crazy out there dude. Pretty talented with the right style, which this is.

C-Lim - he's like BLH a lot in sound and style, but he raps just straight about crip shit.

G-Macc - something of a BLH protege - doing that dark horror/gangsta shit - similar fast/stop n go style

Cos - He's probably the closest to "typical" in style, but he has a unique voice.

All of these dudes have been around for at least ten years and down with BLH for around just as long.

First Degree's voice reminds me of a cross between Big Lurch & CPO Boss Hogg. Criminal Of Sac sounds sort of like a gritty Paul Wall.

I can't front, I don't know squat about BLH. That said, I just happened to find a copy of EBK4 today at a thrift store for $1. Hopefully it doesn't suck since this will be my intro to him...

The short of it is BLH is a horrorcore/hardcore gangsta rapper. He is known for his crazy ass lyrics mixed in with straight gang bang music. Season of da Siccness as well as 24 Deep are considered 1990s gangsta rap classics. EBK4 is not the best CD in the sense he had falling out with his original label so they just released what they had left as an album and packed it full of guests. But that said, his style on there is pretty true to what he does.

So he is hardcore gangsta rap - think Ganksta Nip with a dope flow IMO. He's not for everyone I would assume, but he has a wicked voice and he does what he does well when he does it well.

all the features on this are not your typical "filler" type rappers in fact they are not typical at all. You really need to do your homework b4 you start throwin out hose kind of comments that would be like sayin BLH is your typical mainstream artist. I'll give you a link so you have a chance to see how wrong you are with this one.

"Season of Da Siccness" is a personal classic. I used to bump the hell out of that album back in my high school days. Brother Lynch and X-Raided were the shit for summer music in the ride.

Wow. Well, at least I know it's not his best work. That will help in the expectations department. I'll go in thinking 3 star album...maybe I'll be surprised. Who knows.

I have a gig tonight, so I'll play it on the way there (which is like 15 minutes from now).

Side Note: I had a guy die at my gig last night. Dude was like 60 years old...dancing with 4 hot chicks. I gave him a high five, turned to walk away, and he just fell to the ground. Shit had me rattled. Seen some violent shit in my time (homicide victims, etc...), but I've never seen some natural causes type shit before. I can deal with dead people, but I found out that dying people...man... smh

Sorry, but you SHOULDN'T have to touche the skip button on a great album. According to your logic any album could be dope, if you choose to skip through the filler, right? I you guys like that sort of thing, knock yourself out, but it wears thin about half way through the album for me. The actual music on the album is dope though.

Glad you liked it KJ. I will be honest and say there are probably only 3-4 albums in BLH's catalog I would rec, but this is definitely one.

you will love Season of Da Siccness, straight west coast beats, with a horrorcore vibe, before buying his new one i spun Season for like a week straight to get me ready, now im spinning the new one nonstop

I love that he's with Strange Music now. Dope album and i have it at 4.25. It could go up with repeated spins though.
