I'd agree with that. I like this more than Enta Da Stage by a good margin. I like both Enta Da Stage and Nocturnal more for the same reason that you like Dah Shinin. Hmm...

| OK, Slang there's 100 east coast albums, and we know there are plenty more where that came from. Are you telling us there aren't 25-50 albums on that list that people could like more than Dah Shinin? | |

no im just saying that Dah Shinin meant more for hip hop and production than a lot of those albums, and i wish the voting reflected that

no im just saying that Dah Shinin meant more for hip hop and production than a lot of those albums, and i wish the voting reflected that Run DMC's Raising Hell could very well be the single most important hip hop album ever. Is it your #1 album?

If Da Shinin is top 25, which 74 albums don't deserve to be on my list?

| you could make arguments that you dont need multiple albums for certain artists when they didnt really change their sound/formula or revolutionize an aspect of the game as much as other albums
for example:
PE - Yo Bumrush 95. Fugees-The Score 96. Busta Rhymes-The Coming 97. Busta Rhymes-ELE 98. LONS-A Future Without A Past Roots - Do You Want More 6. Nas-Stillmatic 7. Nas-The Lost Tapes (lol r u serious with these in the top 50??) 6. Nas-Stillmatic 7. Nas-The Lost Tapes LL Cool J - B.A.D. 27. Jeru-Wrath of Math Gang Starr - Hard to Earn Gang Starr - Step into the Arena 36. BDP-Edutainment 37. BDP-Ghetto Music: The Blueprint of Hip hop 38. KRS One-KRS One EPMD - Unfinished Business 44. ATCQ-People’s Instinctive Travels Redman - Dare is a Darkside Redman - Muddy Waters 62. Masta Ace-Slaughtahouse 63. Masta Ace-Disposable Arts 64. Masta Ace-A Long Hot Summer 68. Just Ice-Kool & Deadly 89. Show & AG-Goodfellas
thats 20 somethin but i could make arguments for more

| That's 26 albums. Would you care to liste the other 48 i asked for? I also know people on this forum that would have some of those album in their top 25 let alone top 50. The fact is you complained about the importance of Dah Shinin(which is debatable) not being reflected in the voting, and thewn you turn around and say Raising Hell is not your # 1 album when it could very well be the most important hip hop release ever. Hell, you voted top 50. That's more of an insult than Dah Shinin not being voted top 50 if you ask me. If it's importance isn't reflected in your list why should Dah Shinin be reflected in the lists of others? | |

importance is reflected on my list...i wouldnt vote for too many albums by the same artist like you listed. Also, i was commenting on the amt of neither votes, not the lack of top 25 votes. Therefore i would only need 24 more, not 48, and the difference between 25 and 50 is the personal preference. The importance and quality is what get the album into the top 50. PE - Fear of a Black Planet Roots - Things Fall Apart Mobb Deep - Hell on Earth Method Man - Tical Ghostface - Supreme Clientele Wu Tang Forever PR & CL Smooth - The Main Ingredient KRS One - return of the Boom Bap G Rap and Polo - Road to Riches BDK - Its a Big Daddy Thing Master Ace - Take a Look Around MC Lyte - Lyte as a Rock Black Star Naughty by Nature - 19Naughty3 Big L - Lifestylez Black Sheep - Wolf in Sheeps Clothing OC - Word Life Biggie - Life After Death whatever, i see your point, i just think Dah Shinin did more for hip hop musically than people are taking into account, personal preference will always be personal preference but if we end up with a list with like 10 artists representing 90% of the East's 50 that IMO is wack.

thats 20 somethin but i could make arguments for more Slang, not to play devil's advocate but..... 1) You mentioned Stillmatic and Lost Tapes TWICE which makes no fucking sense. While Dah Shinin is in my Top 50 for the East, Stillmatic and Lost Tapes are both better IMO. 2) A few of those albums would make my Top 50 for the East, some of which I like more than Dah Shinin. |
