The Roots - Illadelph Halflife

Top 10 for me. Favorite tracks are Episodes and What They Do.

Top 25, probably 10, East Coast is tough to keep straight in my head.

Top 50.

Neither so quick so fast. Really couldn't get into them album wise until Tipping Point.

I do agree that Tipping Point is grosly underrated. Along with Halflife, it's my favorite Roots album.

SMH Kev, This album is LIGHT YEARS better than Tipping Point. In fact, the Roots have at least 5 albums (some would even say 6) better than Tipping Point. You seriously need to cop this (if you don't already own it) and spin it a few times. It's a great album and essential listening for any Roots fan.

Top 10 for me personally. Objectively I can't see 50 albums better than this even in the almighty East Coast.

This has definitely slid into my top 25 over the past few weeks. Favorite tracks are What They Do, Push Up Ya Lighter, ? Vs. Scratch (The Token DJ Cut), Concerto Of A Desperado, and Universe At War.

I forgot my favs. What They Do and Concerto Of a Desperado are just flat out masterpieces. I've loved them from day one. Things Fall Apart is my fav from The Roots but this album gets better with every spin and is right on TFA's heels for me.

SMH, you say it like you're surprised. I've always been a fan of The Roots. Their live show is probably the best i've ever seen from a hip hop perspective.

I know you're a fan, but I remember back when you neithered this album in the Top 100 thread a while back, noting that you hadn't spun it enough to rank it among your Top 100. Then I suggested that you spin it more because it easily ranks among their best. I can see that you've done so, which is good to hear.

And I co-sign about their live shows, easily one of the best I've seen in ANY genre.

Yeah, Top 50 in the east doesn't mean it makes my top 100 though. However, as much i've spun it the past month or two, my vote would probably be different now.

I will say Top 50 but it's probably closer to 30 or so. My fav song is What They Do

Not as a whole album some of the beats just weren't my style. I luv the singles off that album though especially Next Movement.

Top 25. Towards the back end perhaps, but still one of my favorites.
