Slick Rick is top 50 for me personally

but for the sake of this forum I voted top 100

he's top 100 easily fellas....

Slick Rick is top 100. There are not too many better at storytelling. His influence is obvious.

I'm gonna vote Top 50 for Rick, cuz I don't think too many people will vote neither. He's easily one of the best lyricists and storytellers in history.

Powell, top 50 and top 100 both are being counted into the points system now. A 50 vote is also a 100 vote, so you don't need to do that anymore

I hate to break it to you, but 1 great album is not enough reason to vote him top 100. Mos Def has two classics, and he's only top 100.

Rick has an all time classic, hes arguably the greatest storyteller ever, and The Rulers Back and Art of Storytelling are both at least 4 stars IMO.

Being an artist from the 80's does not make you a pioneer. Rakim and Run DMC were pioneeers. Slick, not so much. He's had tons of influence on other artists, but he lacks a ton of impact. He's had 1 classic album, 2 good albums, and 1 stinker. I'm not going to give him a pass for being in jail either. If you vote him top 100 that's fine, but to say people are delusional is ignorant. Your opinion is not fact. There are plenty of artists that have one classic album, but they ain't making top 100.

If Slick is top 50 than so is Snoop! Both only have one universal classic album and both are more style and personality than lyricists/emcees. It's funny how this one sided view works isn't it? Snoop is just as lyrical in his prime imo as Slick Rick.

Top 100 IMO. His debut is classic, and "Art of Storytelling" is near. That's mostly what I bump from Slick Rick, so he does not get top 50 from me personally.
