All Finesse's albums are solid as a rock, but I have to go with Funky Technician.

Funky Technician showed Finesse just being completely stripped down and RAW...chock full of beats and lyrics, it wins

I'm surprised The Awakening has so many votes, that one is a DISTANT 3rd IMO.
But anyway, Funky Technican wins. Return Of The Funkyman isn't far behind though.

I don't know man. The Awakening is very strong and contains his best production and guest spots IMO. I'd give it the #2 spot. "Return..." is right there with it. Out of the 3, none are less than 4.5 stars IMO.

The Awakening is my favorite:
I love the dark production on the album, and there are some great guest appearances.

I agree that The Awakening has the best guest spots, but I thought Finesse lost a step on that album. It's about 4.25 to me personally, but I can objectively see 4.5 for it because the production was dope as you mentioned.

I do see what you mean. I don't think he lost a step talent-wise, but he did not pack as many rhymes into it as he did on his first two albums.

All three are top notch but I like Return of the Funky Man and listen to that one the most.

I gotta go with The Awakening. Finesse was strong on Funky Technician, but The Awakening has some of the best production for that year. Game Plan song was the joint.

For some reason, Return Of The Funky Man never appealed to me that much. I chose The Awakening, over Funky Tech, but only just, and only because of the age difference, really.
Now, did anyone ever hear J-Rock "Streetwize" ?... Listen to Funky Tech and then Streetwize, and you could really hear Lord Finesse's influence on him in certain tracks.
