| I think J Live deserves top 100 status. He has a great discog and he's one of the dopest mc's in the game right now. Alot of people don't feel his production but i don't think it's that bad. | |

| Going top 100 for J-Live. Can't say I feel he has any classics, but about 3 of them come pretty damn close, and all his material is very solid. | |

Do you know his history? His debut "The Best Part" (with prod. from Pete Rock, Prince Paul, DJ Premier, etc..) was supposed to drop around 1995. He got jerked around by record companies for 6 years before it was released in 2001. Since then he's had some excellent albums. "All of the Above" is often cited as the fan favorite. His 2008 album "Then What Happened" was fire as well IMO. Here's his discog (with my ratings of what I got): * The Best Part (2001) <--- 4.5 stars * All of the Above (2002) <--- 4.5 stars * Always Has Been [EP] (2003, This CD features 6 tracks of material recorded between 1995-1997) * Always Will Be [EP] (2003) * The Hear After (2005) <--- 4 stars * Reveal The Secret [EP] (2007) <--- 4 stars * Then What Happened (May 2008) <--- 4.25 stars

| Nah Alan J-Live is not getting props from me because of his location man, O.C. is from NYC too and he got a neither...and so is J-Live, who is very dope and an extremely good lyricist but is he really a top 100 hip-hop act of ALL-TIME (there goes that word again..lol)
neither for me easily! | |

neither for me easily! I didn't mean vote him top 100. Just show him respect. It was a joke anyway. I bet you'd like J-Live. He's got that throwback style you like. EDIT: I guess I should ask...have you heard any of his albums?

| I own "All Of The Above" and "The Hear After" both of which are slammin efforts "All Of The Above" more so than the other one...
he's dope lyrically man but he hasn't done enough to be top 100 IMO, nuff respect though to a dope talent!

| Neither. He's good, but not great, and his music has been kind of inconsistent to me, because of the production mostly, but also he's just kind of boring. | |

| I really like J Live so Terry you will dig him because you a triator for NY anyway..lol. But fa real the man is a throw back lyricists in the nature of OC, Mos Def, King Sun, Lord Finesse etc. I want to vote top 100 but he falls in that typical NY dope lyricists section for me where nothing about him really just stands out. |

I think J-Live biggest strength is his consistency. Maybe that's why you find him boring?

| Mic fucking skillz!!
If this isn't the most important part of your voting criteria (or production/DJ abilities) then you are judging a popularity contest. That list is already compiled somewhere using album sales.
If this guy isn't top 100 you either don't know him or are very confused.

I think J-Live biggest strength is his consistency. Maybe that's why you find him boring? I think his rhymes are consistent, but the quality of his music isn't.

With all due respect Terry, you usually criticize people when they vote neither on guys that they aren't familiar with yet you just did the same thing, what's up with that? |
