No love for Mr. Womack?
Why, I am shocked and appalled.

I don't know much about ole Mr. Womack except for of course If You Think Your Lonely Now. I probably have heard more just did not know it was him. I'll check out a few of those on your list.

Anybody that has seen Jackie Brown knows Across 110th Street from the opening credits, great track. The Mama's & The Papa's version of California Dreamin' is way better IMO.

I'm sorry but this makes me sad. With all the R&B/soul heads here you'd think Bobby Womack would have at least 5 songs worth listing.

Unfortunately I only know about the 2 songs that he did that were remade
K Ci- If You Think You're Lonely Now and Gerald Levert & Mary J. Blige- That's The Way I Feel About You.
I will definitely get on a crash course soon though. I purchased his Best Of...from Best Buy, I just need to check it out.

Yes definitely do. He's worth checking out if you like that 1970's vintage R&B/soul sound.

Yeah that's one of my favorite genres of music Linker. I just got Raphael Saadiq's "Stone Rollin'". It was just released Tuesday but that's exactly what his CD sounds like. (70s R&B/Soul)

How is that album Highsmith? I'm a big Raphael fan.
Speaking of him, I hope we get a Tony Toni Tone thread sometime.

KJ it's basically The Way I See It Part 2. If you liked The Way I See It you'll like Stone Rollin. Best Buy has it for 9.99 until Saturday.

The Way I See It & Stone Rollin' follow the 70s theme. I would say his best overall album is Instant Vintage, which is his best work post Tony Toni Tone, even better than Lucy Pearl.

Bobby Womack sang from his gut but I was never a big fan of his music, unlike say Donny Hathaway....
I think Terry pulled this pick out his booty because I'm quite sure that even he couldn't list a top 5 for Bobby.....I honestly thought dude was a tad overrated with his music again IN MY OPINION...but his influence on K-Ci is obvious even without the remake that K-Ci made....I think K-Ci was/is a better singer than Bobby though again IN MY OPINION....

Aside from If You Think You're Lonely Now, I'm not familiar with him too much. For what it's worth, K-Ci's version>>>>>>>>>>>Bobby Womack's version. Linker asked me to nominate him and i obliged. If any of you have some obscure picks you'd like to get listed, just hit me up. I'm sure i got a lot of your favorites lined up, but you never know.
