this is just a follow-up on Terry's Jodeci/K-Ci Jo Jo vs. Guy/Blackstreet thread because I know there is alot of heads on this forum who have no idea who any of those groudbreaking r&b groups are, so here's just a little bit of their material:
Just a very small sample of these groups/artists talents...GET AQUAINTED hip-hop forum...your girls aren't going to want to hear One Be Lo playing in the background when it's time to get busy...lol...remember that!

What up D. Powell! I'm glad you posted those joints man. I might be a little on the younger side, but those groups are definitely solidified in my brain due to my cousins playing that shit all the time. Plus, my Dad was and still is a huge Guy fan. I remember him playing that shit on vinyl. Some other heads on here due need to get acquainted on these joints. Real women dig this shit!
P.S. - When is the next Johnny Gill album coming out?

smh Johnny Gill IS STILL VERY DOPE! Not was, fool. Man his album, BBD & New Edition albums keep getting delayed. Shit is very annoying. They were suppose to have an album out last year for their 25th anniversary, but the group members don't really get along, and BBD wants to do their own thing for now. So Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown created their own group, the Summit. They been touring a lot, so hopefully they can get everything straight and release the damn albums already...smh
Oh btw, I think people are still sleeping on Teddy Riley. They know a little about him, but I don't think they know what he's really accomplished, which is really sad. Dude really is one of the GOATs.

Who's sleeping on Teddy?? Everybody that knows anything about R&B knows that he's one of the greatest producers of all time. He produced a number of Heavy D's albums as well.

He truly is. Practically anything he touched was golden. That "In The Closet" song with Michael Jackson he produced was dope as hell.
As far as Johnny Gill, I did hear his album did get pushed back.

His work with Kool Moe Dee back in '86 predates the Heavy D stuff. He also helped produced "The Show"....a classic Ricky D and Doug E Fresh joint. If you're at all interested, both of those Kool Moe Dee albums are on that dusty old blog of mine that is in desperate need of an update. There's a Heavy D album there too...

I have Kool Moe Dee's albums... I just didn't know Teddy Riley produced them, because I never checked.
