Imo we should take solo's into account also...what you think? Or should I do Puba and Sadat later?

Top 100 - none of these jokers have a good enough solo career to stand on - they one legged pirates of rap so we should consider their solo work here... brrraaaat brbrbrbrbrbrbrrrat

Considering their solo work would only detract from Brand Nubian

sadat x has a strong enough discog to stand out on the solo tip, probably lord jamar too.

You must mean Grand Puba case Jamar has 1 crappy solo album... IMO neither has any real classics as a soloist...

i was thinking Jamar had more than the 5% album, which was dope, never mind. Sadat x is definitely in my top 50.

i would say top 100 but ive only heard there group albums....the only solo i heard was Jamars 5% album

I've only heard 3-4 solos. Reel To Reel and the follow up(2000?), Wild Cowboys, and some of Jamar's album which i wasn't really feeling. Anyone want to rank Sadat's albums for me?

A lot will say Wild Cowboys is his best, I feel Experience and Education is his best, followed by the State of New York vs. Derek Murphy, then Wild Cowboys, then Black October, and his last two are so-so 3 star joints.

Since Puba and Sadat have over 3 solo albums a piece I think they deserve by themselves shine.

If they are seaprate from the group, i'll vote top 100

If they had over 3 solos and they were all great and dope it'd be one thing... but their solos have had ZERO impact on the rap game...

Overall i'm with you on that SRP but from what i've heard they are highly ranked with the fans. Either way they are top 100 for me.

Sadat X has had some nice albums including his last one.

He has some decent ones, none of them rising to the level of Brand Nubian's best work. His last album sucks though, the production is horrible, and his performance is lazy.

Top 100 for sure. I've grown to really dig their other records (aside from their classic debut...which is still my fav) in the last couple of years.

Top 50 ALL FUCKIN DAY! One For All is one of the 20-30 best albums of all time. In God We Trust and Foundation are near classics IMO.

I also love Grand Puba's Reel To Reel, and Sadat X's Wild Cowboys.

Objectively they can easily be a Top 10 group. Talent wise they're excellent. The weakest album in their discog is Everything is Everything and even that's 3.5 stars.

I like them better than UGK, Geto Boys (I like Scarface better as a solo artist), 8 Ball & MJG, Three Six Mafia, Mobb Deep, Cypress Hill, Naughty By Nature, 2 Live Crew, and Bone Thugs, and Heiro personally.

I think 2 Live Crew completely sucks, and Three Six Mafia is average. I like the other groups I just mentioned but I prefer Brand Nubian over them. Out of those groups, only Mobb Deep, UGK, and Cypress Hill come close to them IMO.

I'd say that they're on par with The Fugees, Goodie Mob and a group that you didn't mention, EPMD.

What you fail to realize is that there's a difference between OBJECTIVELY and SUBJECTIVELY. On a given day I'd put them in my Top 10 groups because I bump the hell out of One For All, and I play In God We Trust and Foundation every now and then.

Granted, there are groups that I'd put over them, but I definitely hold Brand Nubian in high regard. My Top 7 groups are etched in stone, everything after that fluctuates.

Yeah I'm an EPMD fan as well. When I think of BDP though, I just think about KRS-One so I don't really look at them as a "group"

that's how i feel too KJ. I think the same thing applies to Gangstarr and Public Enemy too. Although the Roots could fall into that category too i suppose.

People look at BDP as a "group" when it is convenient for them

Well not so much about PE because even though Chuck is the undisputed leader, Flav rhymes occasionally and does a decent job (911 Is A Joke, I Can't Do Nothin For Ya Man).

You can consider Gangstarr a group because the DJ is a bigger star than the MC. They are among my Top 10 for sure.

As for the Roots, you know I love Black Thought (), but they're a group because of the band members, and Dice Raw and Malik B occasionally drop verses too even though they're no longer official members.
