Junk like that. outside of anything before 1984 (maybe 1983) was better also I would say that every year you just mentioned are better than 2010...of course this is all opinion but 2010 was doo-doo man OVERALL...a completely weak and disappointing year overall.....I mean look at some of these lists being compiled under this thread... Did Vinnie Paz (as an example) create some all time hip-hop on that album he released?? because if he did I'm picking that shit up right NOW

| I don't know. I haven't heard it. I'm not saying 2010 will end up being better than those years after I hear more stuff. But, as of right now, I've heard 11 albums. 2 are 5 stars, 7 are above 4 stars (with 2-3 being near 5 stars), and only 2 are under 4 stars. Seems like a good year so far. | |

| I don't know. According to that list, there are 18 albums above 4 stars from 1997, and no 5 star albums. Doesn't sound too strong to me.
And, I will take 1999 off of my list. You will love #6 on there, though.

| Hmmm, my top 6 would have to be....
1. Shad "T.S.O.L." 2. Big Boi "Sir Lucious Left Foot" 3. Moe Pope "Life After God" 4. Pack FM "I Fucking Hate Rappers" 5. The Roots "How I Got Over" 6. Wide Eyes "Hand Tied"
All are in the 4.5-5 star range for me. Big Boi may be my most played album of the year; but I put Shad at #1 because I felt it was the most consistently dope album all the way through.

what "ignorance bliss"?? those lists show how that 2010 can't get close to anything on them Pedro...do you choose to be a stubborn mule until death or does the truth finally register??? 2010 was a bowel movement in progress in terms of quality hip-hop music.....plain and simple!

| 1. Vinnie Paz- Season of the Assassin (I see you A. Perez!) 2. The Roots- How I Got Over 3. Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Those are my top 3 as of right now. No 5 star albums, but damn solid. It has been a good year for hip hop, lots of dopeness has dropped so far.

but the 97 one has tons of quality ummm RZA, that 1996 was from someone off of Amazon and they only listed their top 14, so I just used that one to talk about 1996...if I posted all of the dopeness from that last year of the golden ages then 2010 would look even worse then it already does....lol

Hey Tran I'll ask you the same question that I asked the others....has hip-hop music ever had any weak years to your knowledge?? and if so please list those said years?? you already said that there were NO 5 star albums from this year...I'd said that this year qualifies as one of those very weak years, how about you mane??

Either us young'uns can speak on the golden age and you can speak on the present, or we can't talk about the golden age and you can't speak on now. Can't have it both ways, old timer. |

| Yo, just because there aren't any 5 star albums don't mean it's toilet bowel. Read the lots of dopeness has dropped so far, that's key.
97-99 were pretty weak, and probably couple of years in 2000, but I gotta look it up to make sure.

| But I guess I love hip hop too much to hate, shit each and every year has good shit dropping, and I'm still discovering something dope from each year.
Even 97-99, I'm still finding unknown gems that dropped that year, so even if I think those years are weak, there are still dopeness to be found.

to you its "weak and stupid" because as usual you opened your keyboard and stepped in shit once again...but this normally happens to you when you attempt to "debate" against me mane...I thought you would already have understood this by now anyway since in your opinion this year has been BANANAS please list for me the top 10 albums from this year so far that you have heard and then I will let you know which from that list I have not heard and I will purchase all of the ones I haven't and then let you knwo what I think about them at a later date okay lil joe??

| Maybe you'd like to show me where I said anything in this discussion about any year other than 2010. And there is no logic in your statement...its opinion. Being opinion, its not wrong or right...its how you feel and that's fine.
Stating that hearing more music from a given year makes one more qualified to judge the year overall is irrefutable logic.
Say something stupid...

| See, that's the thing about logic, Powell. It's not mine or yours, its the standard. It's mathematical concepts applied in discussion. It's how the unarguable is established. It's the opposite of opinion, more or less.
I'll get you a list. | |

| A person who has heard more albums opinion should have more staying power than a person who has heard way less. But more is not always better because it can cloud your judgment without you even knowing. I do not even have the urge to listen to all the shit some of you guys go out and find. It does make the "more guy" sometimes come off a lil suspect. They can have a skitzo thing going. |

i agree with that too, but a lot of times if you dont give shit a chance you cant judge, and if someone only hears a little bit they cant judge a whole year. Also, people have to be open to hearing new things, some are just so stubborn that theyll write it off before hearing and when they do they hear it their predetermined thoughts will affect their judgment
