Rock the Bells--Indianapolis Empty
PostSubject: Rock the Bells--Indianapolis   Rock the Bells--Indianapolis Icon_minitimeWed 31 Aug 2011, 1:47 pm

So I went to the Rea, Ghost Mobb Deep concert....

All I could say it was a blast. First off there was a mediocre turnout. There was so much empty space on the concert floor that 2 or 3 freestylers on bikes could have rolled around and do tricks w/o bothering the patrons. Anywhoo it was what you'd expect in a place like Indianapolis when it comes to real hip hop. Majority of the crowd were men, like 50 dudes to one girl. The scampi crowd was prolly the reason there was a long delay to get the show started. The doors opened at 8, the show didn't begin until 10.

SuperNat opened the show with one of his crazy freestyle sessions. At one point he was askin' members of the audience to hand him random objects from their pockets and he would incorporate it in his freestyle.

A quick note about Supernatural, he was actually born in Marion,Indiana and I used to be real tight with his cousin ,Matt, when I first got down to Indiana.

After much anticipation Rea and Ghost hit the stage. The crowd went bonkers. Rea started off with Incarcerated Scarface. Then they went into Criminology. It was bugged out when they went into Ice Cream Cappadonna emerged out of nowhere right when it was time to do his verse. So there you have it. Rea, Ghost,Cappa all on one stage. They did all there classic numbers. Camay,Daytona 500, Fish, Iron Maiden, NutMeg, Run and so on. One of the illest parts is when Cappa spit his infamous verse from Winter Wars. Cappa also performed Slang Prostitution from the Killa Bee comp album. Neither of them did material post the year 2000 which I have no complaints. NutMeg was the newest song they did and that song is 11 years old. Throughout the performance Ghost made comments about such a thin crowd saying "We dont care if there's only 2 of yaw, we're going to give you our best" which they did. But in Rea and Ghost's head they we're probably saying "WTF?" I remember when Wiz Khalif came to the same venue and had a massive turnout. And if you caught my thread about the Jay-Z concert he pretty much shut the city down and sold out the Conseco Field House (Home of the Pacers). Hell, the Pacers themselves cant sell out all their seats. But the Jay-Z concert was on a Saturday and had major promo. This concert was on a Tuesday at the END of the month. Anywhoo they gave a hellauva show.

Mobb Deep. With the crowd the way it was a lot of people didnt think Mobb was gonna perform cause people were leaving after the Rea/Ghost set. Me and my dog was about to leave when someone stated Mobb was about to come on. So we stayed. Now this was the first time I saw Mob live. They gave a good performance and Alchemist actually took over the ones and two's. Alchemist also got on the MIC and spat a verse. BigNoyd was also on stage. They also had the west coast rapper 40 Glocc do a number or 2. One thing I noticed when Mobb got on was the show of security. When Rea and Ghost performed you didnt really see the security. Sure security was present but they wasn't in your face. When Mobb was on security guards stood in front of the stage in a row glancing at the crowd. They did not do this with the Wu clan members. Whats the deal? It was a scampi crowd with the majority being White boys who seem like skateboarders. Even still 2 big security gaurds were very present on stage. I noticed P had a nice necklace of Black daimonds tucked under his shirt. You almost wouldnt notice it. Funny, Ghost had a huge gold necklace with a gigantic medallion dangling from his neck and he was leaned over to the point were the chain could have easily been snatched. I also realized how small Mobb Deep are. Physically these are some small guys, sure P sorta cocked from lifting weights in the joint but he still seemed little in stature. His neck and head seemed big for his body. He looked like one of those characters from the videogame Metal Slug.= just kidding.

After the concert. They mentioned some after hours joint but we didn't go instead me and my friend went to a strip club and guess who was also at the same club? Havoc of Mobb Deep and 40 Glocc. Havoc was cool and I gave him some dap. It was strange that Havoc was just there with 40 Glocc and some females, and no bodyguards. And he was wearing a very flashy chain. I guess he realized that Indianapolis is a cupcake town and he had nothing to worry about. Most of the strip club did not pay much notice of him. The DJ played only one Mobb Deep song when he realized Havoc was in the house, only one, and it was back to playin' Lil fucken' Wayne.

There you have it.

So did they really peform their albums in full? Or just bounced around randomly from their catalog?

Great synopsis man. Not sure why Mobb Deep would need security haha. Maybe they still think people believe they kill people left and right?

Was Prodigy paroled? Maybe it's a protective measure so he doesn't get into any type of situation where he may violate the therms of his parole.
