Alright, so I got "Evolution Fight" in the mail. It's a good album for sure, but I'm not feeling the production that much on it. At this point I'd still say "Water For Mars" is better. Then I checked out "Starship Utopia". I like that one a lot. I'd say it's pretty much on par with "Water For Mars" at the moment...I can see how some would like it better...it's so short though. Maybe it's because I've heard "Water For Mars" so much now, but it was a step forward IMO.

Time Being is dope. I bought that one when Access had it restock but it was gone in a snap. Good luck trying to find a cheap copy of that.

Best tracks: Up Above, Haze, Growing, Fuck America (surprisingly good), Evolution Fight,

Yeah I liked all 3 a lot. Pretty Dark Things is just plain yuck. I don't even want to re-rate it lol. Utter trainwreck.

First Person is indeed a dope song, probably my favorite on "Time Being".

You give Evolution Fight that high of a mark? Hmmm...I got it somewhere around 3.75-4 stars. The production really holds it down IMO. Time Being is their first one right? Is that one quite a bit different than Evolution Fight? I may steer clear if it's similar...or at least just download it to check it. Starship Utopia is dope as fuck though. I haven't heard any bad rhyming from them on any album, but the production can be questionable IMO. Water For Mars is still my favorite after listening to 3 of their albums because the production is relatively great on that one. Starship Utopia is close to that but just a bit too short IMO.

Yeah Time Being is their debut. You have to check it out one way or the other.

I liked Evolution Fight a lot but its just a matter of preference.

Hmm I just re-read your post and 3.75-4 stars for Evolution Fight? That's insanely low for such a quality album. I just don't see it. What songs did you not dig?

Well, that's after a couple listens. Maybe I need to listen to it more, but none of the songs were really standing out IMO. So I can't really say. Starship and Mars were great from the get-go.

lol...I don't know man, the production is my main gripe. It's just not very good IMO...which is why I'm afraid to check out Time Being since it's an earlier record and the production may even be worse/lower budget.

I started out with their best beats on Water For Mars. It's just hard to go backwards with some groups. lol

If you don't check out Time Being you really are missing out. Seriously...its certainly better than Evolution Fight and is one of the few albums I'd give a 5 star rating to.

I was just kidding about the gay thing. I have some random CYNE compilation type thing, and it was cool. Nothing I've been inclined to listen to all the time, though.

Cise (the forum member) may disagree, but Water For Mars is still my favorite. Probably newer than anything you've ever heard by them. The production is a step-up and really brings it full circle. I don't see how anyone would not like this album (it would make me question their tastes in general...lol). However, we are pretty different music listeners. I find most newer east coast rap boring these days, and I love the west sound. You sort of seem to be the opposite. lol

EDIT: I know Cyne is from Florida, but I feel their vibes are very similar to the west coast underground....not east coast styled at all really.
