There's plenty of eastcoast emcees I'd pick over Jay. GZA, Ghostface, Redman, Kool G Rap, Rakim, Nas, Cormega, Ill Bill (sue me), etc. etc.

Agreed. Not with the artists, but with the plenty of emcees comment. Jay would probably make my top 25-30 from the east

your opinion carries as much weight as Lindsey Lohan considering Royce is your favorite MC. That should automatically disqualify you from this discussion.

Jay-Z would make my top 15-20, and I do feel Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint are 5 star classics...his other shit is hit or miss to me though.

You already know 75% of these dudes listen to nothing but haystak, esham, atmosphere, etc. so why be surprised?

As for Steve saying that Nas and Jay are inconsistent, I beg to differ. I'd say the majority of the albums that both men have put out are at least 4 stars.

I only have one Nas album and two Jay albums rated under 4 stars. 95% of every rapper who ever spit would kill to have a career like either of those guys.

None of your guys dropped an album under 4? BULLSHIT!

Redman- Malpractice 3.5
Chuck D- Musik N Hour Message is 3 stars (and that's being kind) and a couple others that PE dropped after He Got Game were under 4.
Kool G Rap- Nothing post Polo is 4 stars except for maybe 4,5,6
Ghostface Killah-Bulletproof Wallets was AWFUL!! I can't see more than 3 stars for that album.
Big Daddy Kane- Daddy's Home was 3.5, Prince Of Darkness and Veteranz Day were horrendous.
LL Cool J- Phenomenon was average save for 4,3,2,1. 14 Shots To The Dome SUCKED ASS (Even LL HIMSELF said he was ashamed to have dropped that album) as did 10, The DEFinition, and Todd Smith.

Something about Jay-Z that sure bring the haters out. And I know just because you do not prefer Jay does not make you a hater but I know for him to have 9 neither votes there's some hate. Especially by underground geeks and wanna be hip hop purist.

Co-Sign.

None of my guys dropped under 4. And there are a ton of other ones too.

Okay KJ I gotta review your ratings cause some of them seem waaaay off man..lol

Redman's is fine
Musik N Hour Mess-Age was a 4 star album, there was nothing overly major wrong with that album IMO
Agreed on G Rap
Bulletproof Wallets was a 4 star album by Ghost unfairly slept on IMO
Agreed on Kane
14 Shots To The Dome was a 3.5 to 4 star album, The DEFinition was a 3.5 star album and a few of those beats that Timbaland threw him were fire on there...the others I agree with
