easily top 10. They have at least 2 classics and as many as 4 depending on the listener.

top 10 EASILY
Kinda like there is no hip-hop without Kool Herc and Bambaataa
The south, the west and the midwest should be on their knees thanking this group for any type of career or mark they've ever made in hip-hop music...they are that important and EASILY a top 10 group of all-time not only on the east coast but the whole fuckin country....

They are a neither personally but I voted top 10, they are too important to hip hop not to be in that top 10.

Fuck that they deserve a tribute...lol....this is not about legends right now even though they are obviously that, this is about a group that changed the entire course of hip-hop..plain and simple, it's not my opinion, IT'S A FACT, it is written, it is known, it is not a secret, anybody who voted neither here is stupid....straight up I don't care what your into or what you like and we can debate this all day...lol REAL talk!

Wow, Powell, I respect Run DMC's place in the game. Don't fucking throw my name out there if you have no clue what you're talking about. I said they're simple by today's standards, I never said they weren't groundbreaking when they started. The problem here is that you can't acknowledge that maybe I can criticize a group I do in fact like. If you ask Terry, I even schooled him on some Run DMC lyrics. So don't call my name out for no reason.

Wow, this is crazy to me, but the east is stacked so i do understand. Also, N3R0 did not school me really, but he is definitely familiar with Run DMC Powell.

Powell, whenever you can't think up a decent argument, you go on the gay attack. That speaks more about you than anyone else....

I'm not ignorant. From an objective standpoint, I'd give them top 5 without question. They are one of the most influential groups in all of music. I'm not taking that away from them. I just rarely spin their material beyond their debut. No offense.

They get the "pioneer" vote, as far as I'm concerned. Without them, a lot of dudes wouldn't be rapping right now.

I co-sign Powell on this. I love Run-DMC personally but even if someone isn't a fan, voting neither on them is complete and total ignorance. If it weren't for Run-DMC, their favorite rapper or group wouldn't be in the rap game today.
They rank 3rd on my all time fav groups.

It's not though, and even if it were you couldn't objectively rank them over Run-DMC. Even Sugar Hill themselves would tell you that.

Yeah I mean you can't just say that the music that came first is always better than the music that came afterward. More important maybe, but not always better.
