| Oh and before you rec, make it sure it isn't any cliche JMT/Vinnie Paz or Tech N9ne/Strange Music album. Those beats are "dark" but on a superficial level only. I'm talking more atmospheric, deep dark ish like Lifestylez/Soul On Ice/Abandoned Language... | |

| Cliche?
You're calling Stoupe's (or even Tech's producers) beats cliche?
Stoupe's beats have it all up on every album you just named.
But regardless, Chessurect, Caligula, JFK, Virtuoso, B.Dolan, Dark Time Sunshine, SCFB, Diabolic, Rhyme Asylum, June Marx, Reef The Lost Cauze, Access Immortal, Oktober Zero, Roc Marciano, M-Phazes, Blacastan, Bru Lei, Dopamine Rush, Klive Kraven, Sapient, 2mex, and Isiah Toothtaker have all dropped albums or mixtapes with those types of beats (to varying degrees of success, and no all of them with complete albums with those types of beats, but some are on each, to be sure). Really, you're splitting hairs to defend an album that no one on here is agreeing with you on. Which is fine, but don't go around dissing other shit because you prefer one thing over another. "Atmospheric" could apply to pretty much anything, it's a word like "ambiance" that has a certain conotation but really doesn't have a specific definition when pertaining to music like this. Superficiality, likewise, is another criticism that is in the eye of the beholder, you're basically saying that Stoupe's beats are amatuerish, which is exactly how some of the wackness on Lifestylez comes across. |
