| Hammer is a top 100 hip-hop act of all-time easily
and no Vanilla Ice is NOT, but Hammer was waaay more talented than Vanilla Ice, if you know anything about hip-hop then you would know how many artists such as Outkast, Brand Nubian, Run-D.M.C., LL Cool J, 2Pac, E-40 and many others sing the praises of MC Hammer, this dude was pop but to compare him to a hip-pop act of today like say Soulja Boi is no comparison...he blows that fruitcake out the damn water, Hammer had incredible dancing talent, below-average mic skills, great song making ability, impact and influence was his, this guy actually ruled bay-area hip-hop at one time, real talk...Hammer actually has more street cred than people even know about....he's not a complete package emcee but what he did he did it well and certainly well enough to qualify for top 100 status IMO
top 100 easily!

| Hammer is almost really top 50 but since his mic skills were below average that hurts him. I agree with Powell assessment, Hammer took what RunDmc started with introducing rap to the mainstream and took it 10x higher. He also was the first artist that was so damn marketable without selling out at first. He did sell out later when he tried coming harcore which was some funny shit. |

| Neither. I vote based on how much I actually listen to the artist, and Hammer is not an artist I spin...much at all really. | |

| Neither.
Hammer was a pop act, through and through. That's not hip hop over here. | |

| Hammer wouldn't make my Top 400 MC's list!
Not only does he lack talent, he paved the way for everyone who has exploited hip-hop music since 1987. He's a joke. |
