Either one is better than illmatic.

The Chronic but only because I play it more and I can just pick it up and play it. Good either way.

Look, the honest truth to me is this:

both are groundbreaking albums

both are seminal places in rap history

But the key difference is this: The Chronic was a huge step forward in terms of production, this really opened up people's eyes as to what rap music could be. 36 Chambers, in a lot of ways, was showing off how much you could do with very little. There are constant mistakes on the album, whereas The Chronic has NONE. Seriously, regardless of how dope the IDEAS on 36 Chambers are, there are enough fuck ups to make some of it unlistenable to me. That's where I stand

My favorite album right now is death certificate it's been something I played lots over the years and is top 5 shit for me. And I would take doggystyle or no one can do it better over the chronic any day. The chronic starts strong with like 6 dope tracks back to back but I lose intrest after that

I'd take Illmatic and ATLiens over both of them. I guess I'll vote the Chronic.

As for these two albums, I'm gonna go with The Chronic. Both are Top 10 albums to me, but The Chronic is 6th on my list and 36 Chambers is 7th. I won't be upset with the outcome either way though.

There's not any filler on either album. Both are easily among the best albums ever created.

The beats on Rat-Tat-Tat, Stranded On Death Row, and Lyrical Gangbang are straight up lazy and uninspired.

The 3 singles plus The Roach are some of the best hip-hop tracks in history, and the remainder of the album is only good enough.

Predictably though, your next question is gonna be "Then why do you defend them so strongly?" My answer is because I judge rappers on their skills, not their gender. I've heard some female rappers that destroy many male rappers on the mic, and all of them don't just talk about female issues either.

I just look at dopeness as dopeness. You can either spit or you can't. There's a lot of female MC's who are dope as fuck on the mic, but because they have breasts and a vagina these fools in this forum won't even give them a chance.
