I'll buy it it ever comes out. I wish this happened 15 or 16 years ago, but neither act really needed the gimmick back then

You think its just a gimmick? Or more so just something that was 15yrs in the making anyway? I think the latter. Even though it can easily be both.

I dunno. Gimmick may not be the right word. Both acts aren't what they were 15 years ago especially Mobb Deep, and i'm not sure they have the market they once had. They were stand alone acts and did not have to rely on trends to keep their names out there Now they are kinda joining the trend of collabo albums(Nas already has one under his belt). It just feels like the popular thing to do, and it feels a little desperate. I hope the product is dope though. Nas' biggest problem has been his beat selection. Let's hope Havoc laces him with some dope beats, and Prodigy is at least competent.

Now thats what i'm thinking makes this a win win. We get dope lyricism with Nas and some head nodding beats with Havoc. And Nas will make Prod step up or at the least tolerable.

Gimmicky as a motha, IMO. I will buy it, though.

It does seem a little desperate, but I guess that's our fault (collectively speaking) as fans. At the same time, it seems natural, if a decade or so late.

I don't like everything Nas has done, but I'll never write him off.

This should be a pretty dope effort...which would have been even doper if it was released in say 1999....but Nas will bring his lyrics like he normally does and Prodigy who has fallen off a bit can still be a lyrical beast when he wants to be IMO...and what could give him that desire (regaining his lyricism) more than being next to Nas on every single track?? that combined with the fact that he lost even more recording time by being locked up should be more than enough motivation for Prodigy!

I have to completely disagree with that statement. I think this has been a good year so far and "rather slow" is not the words tha come to mind. I need to go check your 2011 list and see what you are not hearing and come back and holla atcha. 2011 has had one of the biggest jump off's album quality wise in awhile imo.

I'm not saying that there hasn't been dopeness this year, but the dopeness seems to drop in patches. Either there's a bunch of dope albums dropping at once, or nothing.

my quick thoughts:

1. This will probably not happen
2. It seems slightly "gimmicky" but id still buy it
3. Nas and Mobb seem to be on completely different tips these days so im not even sure how this will work but well see
