I don't like any of the Vols. or BP2 except for a few choice tracks. I only like MBDTF from Ye.

Does anyone know if the deluxe edition was release today or the 23rd? Don't want to drive down to Best Buy for nothing.

Deluxe edition is $16.99 at Best Buy. I almost picked it up with Success Is Certain, but I decided against it

Best Buy's shelves sometimes give the wrong prices for their products (especially with CD's and DVD's). I bought Bad Meets Evil from there, the shelf said 12.99 and I actually got it for 9.99 on my reciept.
I can't believe Half likes Watch The Porcelain Throne better than All 6's and 7's. That's crazy! And I'm a bigger Jay and Ye fan than I am Tech yet I still feel that All 6's and 7's is a superior album.

Listening to this now, on trk 11. I can't give a soild rrating off one semi listen. I have been in and out and pausing it so a lot has not really soaked in. But I do see why this album is getting bad reviews and I can see why its getting some props.
Beats-B Lyrics- C- (this is the real downfall of this album) Subject Matter- C+ (they surprised on some of the substance on this album) Originality- C (it feels like a MBDTF pt. 2 at times)
If they would have just dropped this album without any pre hype or advertising than I may could see giving this one a pass. If they were rookies I could give this album a pass. But when two emcees of this breed get together you should really cross your t's and dot your i's. Take your time and diverify the beat selection. Maybe Jay needs to get back to written his rhymes down or just take a year or two off. Ye needs to get off this i'm making this God type beats tip and just make some beats. All the songs have that concert ready feel to them but what happened to just some good ole break beats under a hard bassline?
3.5-3.75 seems like a real fair rating for this right now. The production really carries this album more than the rapping.
Listening to the bonus trks now. Let's see if some of these should have been in the original order.

So finishing this up.
1. This is no way better than All 6s and 7s 2. Wow, some of the tracks on this album are fucking trash. Lift Off with beyonce makes me want to vomit. 3. That said, this album has some really dope, interesting production. 4. Despite contradictions up the ass, the RZA produced autotune beat is fucking dope, don't see how anyone can not like that track. 5. The album is all over the place, disjointed, and does not sound good as an album, but lyrically Jay is not bad, so any talk of Jay falling off is stupid. 6. Got this at around a 3 stars off one spin. Like it more than Jay Z R. Kelly, but jay needs to stop fucking with those chi-town dudes.

I'm about 10 songs into this album, and I hate to say this considering the artists involved (Jay is my #2 favorite artist of all time, Kanye is my #4 favorite producer of all time), but I'm disappointed. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about this album is not impressing me in this slightest.

The album sounds like a collection of tracks. there really isn't much continuity and it feels disjointed. That being said, the songs that i like, i really like. I have a feeling this is an album worth of songs that would sound a lot better when they pop up randomly on someone's iPod playlist/. I guess that's a backhanded compliment of sorts, but it's not exactly a good thing.

It's a mediocre album and these 2 artists should not collaborate and release a mediocre album. Really wished I hadn't purchased it. I just don't care for it much at all.
That Royce album on the other hand is really getting better and better with each spin.

It's odd to me that some people didn't care for Dynasty and the Vols...IMO, Jay didnt have a sub-4.0 album until BP2. And I don't consider myself a Jay stan. I do include him in the convo for goat emcee, tho, because of his early consistency and overall contributions.

Yeah I actually like Dynasty quite a bit. I can see the Vol 2 complaints.... seemed very uninspired even though it had some hit singles. Vol 1 and 3 are pretty good if you ask me. I give Blueprint really high marks, maybe even 5 stars. Then BP2 was a double album that had more filler than good tracks so it was his weakest release at that point. The Black Album was nice, although I rarely listen to it nowadays. Then Kingdom Come was a big disappointment.... then AG was really dope, my #3 Jay album. Then BP3 was another weak performance. And then WTT, while I think its a good release, is probably sub 4.0 for me as well.
And I don't know how people think Jay is still on top of his game lyrically... can you even give me one hot line from BP3? From WTT?

That's pretty accurate (although HAM is wack). I spun this album twice in it's entirety and have absolutely no desire to spin it again. Glad I downloaded it, I would have been mad wasting 12.99 on this trash.

This is what I said almost 2 months ago, and MAN, did I short change this album or what???!!! I just revisited this (something I said I wasn't going to do in this same thread), and most would say it's me and bias towards Jay-Z (especially) and Kanye West, and while that's true, my 360 degree change towards this album is legit, and it's an excellent album. I don't know what I was thinking when I first bumped this album, maybe I went into it expecting something else (don't know what that could be, lol). I bump my rating up from a LOW 2.5 to a strong 4.5 star rating for this one. I'll even go on record as saying that as it stands right now, this is my pick for best album of 2011.
