Thoughts on improving is forum

These are just suggestions..
1. Anytime a fly-by artist post his shit here, we need to listen and give feedback

2. Need to cool it with the polls, really. They are not needed. That whole topic of the day section is almost useless.

3. Need to have a contest--who ever is the most active a quarters time gets a free Cd, someone will buy it.

4. Create an artist of the Month thread that will be a sticky, every month will have a poll on who should be the artist of the month. It could be a dormant rapper, a dead rapper, or a rapper that just dropped an album. It could be even a wack rapper like Waka Flocka

5. Bring back the Amazon.com /HH4L mixtapes. Do them every quarterly or twice a year

6. Copy RapGenius and make it better. Create a section were loggers jot down a lyric and people can give replies on what that lyric means. Call this section FUCK RAPGENIUS.

7. The Coast comic needs to be more frequent and better drawn

8. Have an award show at the end of the year.

9. This may be little far fetch but come out this a HH4L newsletter. With a professional writing staff and distribute this newsletter all over the world.

I can see all of these being easy to do except maybe 8 and 9. I agree about the Daily Topic section being kinda pointless. Besides the polls, there is never any new daily topic. There should be just random daily topics that everyone weighs in on, and we should include the wack shit just to be fair. I bet we scare a lot of new users away because they think we are all pricks that won't give them the time of day. This may be true (lol), but we should try and fake it a little.

I'll try and start coming up with random topics for the daily thread so I'm doing my part.

I like the suggestions. This is still the best hip-hop forum I've ever been on as is though, but som new life would be cool. I kind of like the fact that we're all at least semi-snobbish in our hip-hop tastes.


Off topic but what are the rules on dl links here? I was thinking of moving my monthly mixes over to here from Amazon... they hardly get dl'd, so Idk if anyone would be interested anyway.

Continuing from Lunquists question about mixes, A mix section would be cool... A place where members can post their own cd size mixes for others to dl and listen...

Would that be allowed?? Mods chime in please...
