| for sharing dope hip hop they found online or anywhere else for that matter? Isn't that how hip hop got popular in the first place? Without sharing music, hip hop would not be what it is today, that's for sure. Who came up with that idea and why?

| The same as calling somebody a hater. Insecure that different opinions somehow invalidate your own.
Remember, too, before the Internet we pretty much associated with our friends/friends-of-friends. Now any asshole can observe & chime in... whereas, without the webz they'd never get a foot in the door.

There were stans before the song even came out. The song was about crazy fans. I don't see the connection between that song and classifying somebody as a dickrider if they share somebodies music. But then again, people misinterpret things all the time, so you could be right. |

I can definitely see this, and I agree that without the web, a lot of artists wouldn't have even gotten past their neighborhood, let alone through the door in the first place. |

| I think people are just abusing the word. I don't really call someone a dickrider unless they are the type to hype an artist up with no real objectivity. They just love anything that artist does even if it sucks. And most importantly, dickriders refuse to listen to any counterpoints. Rap Genius is full of those nerds. There is one obnoxious fuck who dickrides Lil B on there. | |

| According to urbandictionary.com, the definition of a dickrider is:
The polar opposite of a hater. someone who will praise their favorite band/artist/actor/athlete as if they were Jesus of Nazareth, and take any criticism of that person as a personal insult.
Just addin' to the conversation.
