| Who are your favorite MC's based on their work ONLY FROM 2000-2009. I decided to do this since it will probably change most peoples top 10 lists eliminating many of the Golden Age MC's who have been quiet during this period. The rapper could have debuted before 2000, BUT only base these rankings on they're work from the last 10 years.
Here's Mine in no order:
Eminem Sean Price MF Doom Cormega Tech N9ne One Be Lo Ghostface Talib Kweli Canibus Jadakiss
Honorable: Royce Da 5'9" Masta Ace, Hell Razah, Killah Priest, AZ, Del
i dont know about everyone else but my list looks way different than my other one with only 2 MC's on both

Eminem Talib Kweli Kanye West Game Killer Mike Z-Ro Ghostface?- shouldn't he count for the 90's T.I. Cormega Beanie Sigel well im basing my Ghostface rating only off his work on Supreme Clientele, Bulletproof, Pretty Toney, Fishscale, Big Doe, The W, Iron Flag, Wizard, etc. ....and even without his 90's work hed still make my top 10 of the last 10 years

You know I did not count Rino because he debuted in the late 80's and had plenty of albums drop in the 90's. But then again based on the last ten yrs he has out out some stellar material. So does he count going by this criteria? |

| Yeah, Kev. Like the thread said, pretend to 80's/90s never happened. Do your list like hip hop music was created in 2000 | |

| Yeah Kev, by that he means that the rapper did not have to start in the 2000s, instead he means judge the rappers strictly by their post 2000 albums and work. |

Honorable Mentions: Black Thought, Immortal Technique, Phonte, Game, Styles P KJ you really taking One Be over Black Thought, Immort, and Game?? I can't see that one at all, that dude is just so average to me its not funny. Lupe is a close call for me but I need at least one more album. Sugafree is another one that may crack that list with more thoguht. |

Lupe is a close call for me but I need at least one more album. Sugafree is another one that may crack that list with more thoguht. First of all, you're SLEEPING on One Be Lo. I don't think you've given Masters Of The Universe or SONOGRAM an honest listen, he's a beast on the mic. As for how I rate him, well he's DEFINITELY better than Game. I wholeheartedly believe that. Game has gotten by on dope production but he's an average lyricist. I don't think he's as good as Black Thought. I just did this based on post-2000 material. I feel that MOTU and Sonogram are better than any of the Roots post-2000 joints. The Roots first three albums are better though IMO. I'd say he's on par with Immortal Technique. ITech is a slightly better lyricist, but I like One Be Lo's albums slightly better so it's a push between the two of them IMO. But you're seriously sleepin on the man. He's dope as fuck. SONOGRAM is probably my favorite underground album of all time. He's far from average on the mic. Sugafree??? Are you shittin me? Dude couldn't see One Be Lo with laser eye surgery. As for Lupe, I get a lot of shit from people on this forum because I dig his music, but I don't give a fuck. He's a dope lyricist with deep subject matter. Another album on the level of F&L and The Cool and he'll go even higher on my list. |

| Yeah Skinny, I'm familiar with Field Mob man, thanks to Kev actually.
I was sleeping on them at first because I was only familiar with their radio hits like the joint with Ciara but Kev put me on to two of their albums and they've been in rotation ever since...the accents are noticable but those dudes can spit man I agree with you there..
