| AZ is top 100 for me. I know people find him boring, but i personally love his discography. I guarantee there will not be too many better lyricists to make this list. He has an unquestioned classic with Doe Or Die and another borderline classic with Aziatic. The rest of his albums are strong even if they are under the radar. | |

| Neither. "Do Or Die" is dope, and I can see the classic status in that one, but I have been underwhelmed by the rest of the material I've heard from him and really don't bump him enough to consider him tops. |

| Another neither for me...
"Doe Or Die" is very dope...a classic even
but that's about all he's got IMO...at least at that level
yes he can spit, and him and Nas together is one of the strongest teams in hip-hop history IMO, although I don't think he's on Nas's level lyrically like I've heard some say..
he is lacking in the charisma, impact, and influence departments for me and I do find him to be a little boring which is also not a good emcee trait....
I've got him in neither status

I've got him in neither status Well, I'm one of the people who thinks he is every bit the lyricist that Nas is, but everything else is in Nas' favor so the two aren't really close. Have you heard Aziatic, Powell?

Have you heard Aziatic, Powell? Yeah I have Terry, I thought "Aziatic" was a good effort man, I've got it at 4 stars, but somewhere along the way on that album I started to fall asleep man..lol seriously..AZ can't hold my attention for an entire album for some reason man...I'm not sure if it's his flow or what... oh and I don't think he's as lyrical as Nas, at least not for me otherwise that would mean he would be top ten of all-time material for me and he's not that high IMO IMO= In My Opinion lol

| Top 100. His style is boring at times but Doe or Die just got him in. | |

| AZ is a robot. It's like someone fed in some styles, and he spits them back out with precision, but no soul or creative spark. That's what I hear in AZ. What has he brought that is original, or highly creative? It worked well enough to make some good albums, but other than that, I don't know that he's really brought anything unique to the table, or had any transcendent skill. Oh, and he's not even in the same league as Nas as a lyricist. His lyrics are functional, they fit a mold, he knows where to put multis, internal rhymes, slant rhymes, the old buzz words and phrases, but he is not especially poetic or creative.
With all that said, though he seems like a blank slate that just absored other styles, and never offered much of himself, he did that just well enough to have a classic album, and a solid catalog after that. So I'd put him just inside the top 100

| I was seriously on the fence with AZ. I do think he's a fantastic lyricist, but his discography has some nuggets in it. It does however, also have some bright spots and he has some of the best guest verses in the history of the game.
In the end though, I voted him Top 100. He's Robin to Nas' Batman, and Doe or Die and Aziatic are personal classics. |

Format is 4 stars. I rank the two aforementioned plus AWOL ahead of it. |

| Pieces Of A Man was like 3.5 stars. Not bad, but not great. The only AZ album rated lower than that for me is Undeniable. |

| What about 9 Lives? That is the only sub-par (meaning less than 3.5 stars) album AZ has released IMO (haven't heard the new one, though) | |
