TRILL

Kind of have Bun B fever at the moment, lol, due to anticipation of his new release Trill O.G. (which I've already started a thread for), After I finish bumping Cube's Predator, I'm going to revisit Bun's first two albums. In the meantime, what are your thoughts, ratings, etc on his first two albums?

Trill is a personal classic for me, and II Trill is about a 4 star album(maybe a little less)

Trill is 4.5 stars for me right now, so is II Trill.

With those two albums and the new one on the way, I feel Bun has proved he can carry a solo album.

I love UGK and so I think I unfairly judge the Bun B cds, cause to me they are just far more generic and less memorable. I have both around a 4. Maybe a little under, and that is mainly just cause the UGK cds are so good and the solos cant touch them. I am excited for this, but 2 drake features, come on bun

I see what you're saying, and it's clear that the solos can't touch the UGK catalog. Hopefully those 2 songs w/ Drake don't mess up the flow of the album.

Well Drake owes him more than one for taking Bun off of that Miss Me song with Lil Wayne. I am sure that is why Drake is on 2 songs. Originally that song was suppose to be on Trill OG.

I can't get into them album wise. A song here and there is cool but taking them as serious albums??..nope. Bun seems to me to be selling himself short or trying to stretch himself out to much.

I co-sign KRob. And have you guys heard the song with gucci mane? It just is wack, and as radio friendly as it gets, and to be honest, bun doesn't even really stand out that much. UGK just did a really good job of getting content into there stuff, but the solos from bun have just been progressively more generic and shallow. But as like a mainstream whatever album they are dope. They are something to bump to, nothing more.
