I just got Statik Selektah's joint and i think it's better than "Stoney Jackson" so i made the adjustment. Is that Reks an album or a mixtape? I've been kind of slow with the purchases but things will pick up for the next month or so starting with Tuesday with the Marco Polo/Rustee Juxx album. Lots of iinteresting releases coming in the next few weeks.

Wu Massacre is dec, but way too short. Looks like this will be the Chamber Music of this year (way too short, over-rated Wu album called an instant classic).

Added Ruste Juxx and Marco Polo to my list. I got it at around 4 stars.

Brotha Lynch Hung moves into the #2 spot. Not enough to beat out "Stimulus Package" but dope in it's own right. I've got it at 4.5. Very entertaining album. Picking up that "Wu Massacre" next week. Alot of purchases coming up in April.

Yeah BLH tops my list for best album of 2010 so far. I like it a tad more than the Freeway.

Got that Wu Massacre today. It's alright for what it is. It aint touching the Freeway or BLH albums though. Not ready to rank or rate yet, but you could say i'm satisfied but not overly impressed with this album. I guess my expectations were too high. If you go into it expecting a solid album then you won't be disappointed but don't expect anything close to classic.

Wu Massacre is fire, its the MOST i expected after i heard that it was going to be released on Def Jam

DEf Jam was cheap and rushed them and Rae probably didnt show up on as many tracks since Def Jam would have to pay him a guests fee for every track he appeared on since he wasnt signed to the label.

That said, the album is short yes, but its what i wanted for the most part, every song is dope, no filler, its instant satisfaction and an album i can pull out if i dont have a lot of time to listen to a full album

just a nice collection of bangers, "It's That Wu Shit" is dope as fuck

All tracks are great i dont really know what to rate the album though, probably 4/5 since it seemed rushed, but even when rushed they all brought flames with their verses and beats bang

This album's short and rushed nature is not def jam's fault. Rae is an idiot if he really was charging per verse and hindered the album. Ghost and Mef are idiots if they didn't put their all into this album for some bullshit AFTER they signed the fucking contract.

the music is dope - solid - nothing classic - but it is cheating the fans. The wu mixtapes I buy got more material than this.

I agree with Slang. Every song on Wu-Massacre is dope and Meth sounds the hottest he's sounded in ages on this album, if only he'd spit fire like this on his solo albums.

What's wack on this album??? I'll admit it's way too short and an album that short shouldn't have 3 skits on it, but besides that there's nothing wack about it.

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because there aren't enough 5 star tracks on it, but it's a dope album nonetheless.

Let's see.... for starters you have about half the album consisting of mixtape freestyles and clocking in around 2 minutes each... then the rest of the album barely struggles to get past that format and you really have 5 actual songs on there. let's call 2-3 of those 5 star songs.

How that averages out to 4.5 stars I do not see. 4 stars is more acceptable if you really like everything on there.

I marvel at how people will refuse to listen to s a free mixtape/street album sometimes, but willingly shell out 10 bucks to pay for a similar product as long as it's packaged nice and available at Best Buy.

I never said that I don't listen to mixtapes, I just said that I don't get as excited about them as albums.

As for your analogy, you're incorrect. There are two skits on the album, and 10 tracks. While a number of those tracks are short, they're tracks nonetheless.

Some of them do come off as mixtape freestyles, but they're still dope. The rhymes and production are both top notch. Had there been more songs on the album with longer lengths, I might have been inclined to call it a classic.

Of all the albums I've heard this year, only The Stimulus Package and maybe Dinner & A Movie are on the same level IMO.

All that said, the music on there is better than anything on OB4CLII

How is it Def Jam's fault? They had plenty of time to drop more than a half hour of music... shit they probably spent more time plotting on those alternate covers than they did recording for this album.

And no songs on OB4CL2 can fuck with the best songs on Massacre.
