smh. Joe Johnson is the best player that's been on the Hawks since Dominique.

That doesn't mean he deserves the max contract. He's not a superstar, and he's not that young.

David Lee (Utah) Just a guess, I have no idea where he ends up.
Rudy Gay (LA Clippers) The Clips add Aminu, Bledsoe, and Griffin to a decent nucleus. They feel Gay will fill their void at the 3 maybe allowing Aminu to come off the bench.

By the way, Carlos Boozer and David Lee have turned into way better pros than I ever thought they would be.

smh Joe Johnson just resigned with the Hawks for an absurd amount. He got 6 years, 119 million. big mistake by the Hawks.

I'm surprised your so upset about this Tran. Johnson is the centerpiece to a nice young club in Atlanta. They are a good veteran away from being a contender i believe.

Did you watch him in the playoff last year? He averaged 11.8 points per game in the second round, while shooting 29.5 percent. Not max money numbers. He's better as a second option. I rather they do a sign and trade for him. This contract will burden the team for years.

Gay staying with Memphis surprises me for some reason. I'm not really sure why.

Is Darko really worth 20 million over 4 years? I stopped paying attention to this guy after he flamed out in Detroit and went to Orlando.

Well done Atlanta for giving a non-franchise player a franchise contract. Somewhere Otis Smith is laughing his ass off. This is almost identical to that Rashard got a few years back (albeit that was a sign and trade). That's going to set the franchise back...

Sarcastic how? Minn. wants to resign him and these are the numbers reported by ESPN. The guy averaged 7 pts and 5 rbs per game. I don't see how that warrants 4 years and 20 million. You could get them numbers from somebody for alot cheaper.

Yeah, I was shocked when I saw it too. See your a Kings fan. Congratulations on Demarcus Cousins. I've ran into him 3 times in Lexington and he's really a character when interacting with the fans. He gets a bad rap but it's all from high school. In his year at Kentucky he really did nothing to warrant all the talk about bad character. It was just alot of hate. He will be a steal at #5 and teams #2-#4 are going to be kicking thereselves here in about 3 years.

Right on man. Thanks for the support. I was stoked we fell to us and if he gets his head right and stays well conditioned there will be a few teams kicking themselves. From the interviews I've seen he's a total goofball and is really taking a liking to the city and fans. Really glad we finally have a franchise center again.

All I'm gonna say is that if the Knicks get shut out in free agency, I will no longer be an NBA fan.

I'm still not sold on him being anything more than a rebounder. I think he was a product of being on an elite team. I'm still calling Cousins a bust-in-waiting until I see otherwise with my own two eyes...

I doubt they will get shut out, but if they don't get Lebron(which they won't), it will still probably be considered a failure.

He's definitely a product of the system that he plays in. Nash makes everyone's numbers look good. I think he's going to disappoint wherever he winds up, but NY plays the same system he played his best years in. So NY seems logical...

Well if the Knicks get Amare this year, they can save their other max contract option until next year and get Chris Paul, who will be a free agent in 2011.

Paul doesn't have the world on his jock like Lebron does, plus most of the good teams in the league already have upper echelon PG's, and the others likely won't be able to afford him.

Out of all team courting Paul, the Magic are a strong possibility. They are most likely not gonna be players this year but you never know. I heard Paul Posey for Carter Nelson rumors around the draft time (then again you hear everything around that time).

honestly Demarcus Cousins IMO is the only guy thats going to be a lock as being a good player besides Wall among the players in the top 5. i see question marks surrounding Turner, Favors, and Johnson.

Cousins averaged 15 and 10 in 22 minutes and is easily the most offensively polished big man. He is a stud in waiting.
