Common easily for me

Common wins for me. I like Tech but lyrically he can't hang with Common nor discog wise. Tech wins in the flow and delivery area. And semi in the entertainment factor.

Common fell off years ago..Be & Finding Forever were mainstream efforts, and UMC was downright 2.0 stars terrible. Tech has been consistent, the most successful indie rap act ever, and is better lyrically, delivery n def flow. U could say Common has better voice n subject matter, but that is 100% debatable. Anyone not voting tech is not familiar, I will say that.

If everyone would do me a favor and list the albums they have purchased from each artist I think it would be very telling

i agree with this assessment

back in high school i probably would have said Common, but Tech has more stuff i bump now. Resurrection and LWFC are still classics, and i like a lot of Common's other albums but since and including "Be" i havent felt him that much . In terms of skills which is what this thread is about Tech is taking this

Common albums I actually purchased are all of them except Can I Borrow A Dollar

Only Tech albums I purchased are KOD (well its on deck), Killer, and Angellic (back when it dropped). But I have heard and have copies of Absolute Power and Everready.

So while i'm not deep into Tech I am pretty familiar with him. I was checking for him big time back in the day. He's very hit or miss for me. He has these real high quality songs and then he has these real weak very average ass songs.

Gotta go with Tech here. I got into him late but I really like the 4 albums i own. Common is cool, but for some reason he puts me to sleep.

Tech N9ne, no question. This is not even a contest, and if it is a contest, it's a rigged contest. Cuz tech wins easily. And shaun has horrible taste in music. He doesn't like ras kass or tech n9ne...wow...loser...

I actually agree with Pac Jr. here too...Common in 2010 is more interested in making movies with Queen Latifah than he is with actually emceeing ( I liked Finding Forever by the way)


but his OVERALL catalog is too strong for Tech and his impact beats him too...lyrically I think Tech is better than him though...but I've still gotta go with Common right here!

one of the first artists i ever bumped, not just his solo work, but all the quest spots as well as the "new skool" native tongue movement.. his work with mos an talib is some of my favourite..

tech isnt really my sound, , ive sampled some of his stuff before, , dont own any of his albums.

I have never heard a Tech N9ne song, although he did have a following at Rock The Bells, either last year or in'08 so it's Common 4 me.

Common in the easiest vote so far.

I voted for Common, even though I never really got into either very much. I just think he had more of an impact on the game. Not trying to take anything away from Tech N9ne, but it is what it is.

The score would actually be 9 for Tech if we take Jeff vote into consideration.

Okay look on the real Common would eat Tech for breakfast lunch, dinner, snack, and late nite dinner. Tech is a average to above average lyricists who was a strong delivery and flow. Those are mos def his biggest assets but Common is a pure spitter without all the pizazz.
